This short Surya mantra is often used in concentrated japa, especially during sunrise worship, to invoke radiance, steadiness, and disciplined awareness.
This praise verse addresses Surya as Bhaskara and Divakara, making it more devotional in tone than the shorter mantra and well suited to morning stotra recitation.
The Surya Gayatri is recited as a meditative prayer for illumination, health, right direction, and the awakening of inner clarity.
